GREENVILLE, S.C. – The 40th annual Gene Mullin Furman Cross Country Invitational will be held Sat., Oct. 6, on the Furman University Golf Course.
The Saturday races will kick off with the Blue Shoes 5K at 7:45 a.m. The collegiate women's 5K event will commence at 8:30 a.m., followed by the collegiate men's race, which features a new 5K distance this year, at 9:10 a.m. At 9:40 a.m. the varsity girls' championship 5K will begin, followed by the varsity boys' championship 5K race at 10:15 a.m. The JV girls' 5K starts at 10:40 a.m., then the JV boys' 5K at 11:20 a.m. All races will be held on the cross country course of the Furman Golf Club, which has hosted two NCAA Division I Cross Country championships.
Furman welcomes eight men's and nine women's college teams and 19 boys' and 18 girls' high school teams to the event this year. The Paladin women's cross country team won last year's Furman Invitational with a score of 23 points, while the Furman men's team finished second to VMI.
