GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Furman indoor track and field teams will compete at the 2013 Southern Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 23-24) at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The meet will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. with the women's pentathlon, followed by the men's heptathlon events at 10:15 a.m. The awards ceremony is tentatively scheduled for Sunday at 4:55 p.m.

The event is free to the public. Live results, daily photos, and video highlights can be found on-line at www.soconsports.com. Daily recaps can be found on the Southern Conference website and at www.furmanpaladins.com.

The Western Carolina men and Appalachian State women claimed the indoor titles last year. The first-place finish was the Mounaineers' tenth since 2000.  Furman placed seventh in the men's competition in 2012 while the Paladins women's team claimed eighth place.

Fifteen student-athletes return to this year's championship looking to defend their 2012 individual titles.  Blair Burke, Danielle Ebzery, Sinead Haughey, Tripp Hurt, and William Ivey represented the Paladins on the SoCon All-Freshman team at last year's meet.
