Paladins Compete In Mile Event At Virginia Tech Challenge

BLACKSBURG, VA. -- Six members of the Furman men's indoor track and field team competed in the mile Friday at the Virginia Tech Challenge in Blacksburg, Va. 

Redshirt freshman Troy Reeder led the Paladins in the event, placing seventh with a time of 4:07.77, while senior William Ivey also turned in a top-10 finish, claiming tenth after crossing the line in 4:09.23.  Sophomore Brock Baker finished 12th at 4:12.11, followed by fellow sophomore Nate Reich who posted a time of 4:12.27 for 13th place.  Senior James Perez finished 16th with a time of 4:16.09, and rookie Austin Sprague was 17th at 4:16.83.

Furman will compete at the Southern Conference Championships in Birmingham, Ala, Feb. 27-28.
