GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Furman cross country teams will compete at the 16th Annual Louisville Sports Commission Cross Country Classic on Saturday at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.  The course is the site of this year's NCAA Cross Country Championships, which will be held Nov. 18.

The Paladin men, who are ranked 12th in this week's USTFCCCA national poll, will run in the Gold Men's 8K beginning at 9:30 a.m., where Furman will take on teams from 36 other schools, including top-ranked Northern Arizona and No. 7 Wisconsin.

At 10:15 a.m., the Furman women, who are currently ranked 29th nationally, will compete in the Gold Women's 5K.  Forty two other schools will compete in the race, including No. 13 Boise State and No. 18 Wisconsin.

"The program is very excited to see where we stand at this meet," said Furman head coach Robert Gary.  "Several ranked teams will be in attendance, and this meet is being held at the site of the NCAA Championships, where we hope to be racing both programs come late November."

Live results will be available following each race at http://loucrosscountryclassic.com/results-archive/2017-results and on www.furmanpaladins.com, the official website for Furman University athletics.
