Furman's Templeton Named SoCon Runner Of The Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman's Aaron Templeton has been named the Southern Conference men's cross country runner of the week for competition that took place Sept. 26-Oct 2.

Templeton, a senior from Knoxville, Tennessee, finished fourth overall in a strong field at the Joe Paine Invitational at Notre Dame on Friday with a time of 23:48.  He helped lead the Paladins to a fourth-place team finish. Due to Hurricane Florence, it was Templeton's first race of the season.

Also nominated for the men: Ben Varghese (ETSU), Luke Sumerford (UNCG), Jordan Bostian (Western Carolina) and Davone Hernandez (VMI).

The Paladins are back in action on October 12-13, racing at the Queen City Royals Challenge in Charlotte on Oct. 12 and at the Pre-NCAA Invitational in Madison, Wis., on Oct. 13.
