Furman vs. Loyola Game Notes

Greenville, S.C. -- The Furman men's basketball team faces its first road test of the 2018-19 season when it travels to Chicago, Ill., on Friday to take on 2018 NCAA Final Four participant Loyola (Ill.). Tip-off at Gentile Arena is slated for 8 p.m. EST.

Friday's contest will air live on NBC Sports Chicago and stream live on ESPN3. Paladin fans can listen to the game on the Furman IMG Sports Network at FoxSports 1440AM, via Stretch Internet at FurmanPaladins.com and on the TuneIn Radio app.

Matt Rafferty and Jordan Lyons scored career highs with 24 and 23 points, respectively, to pace Furman to a 102-48 victory over the Bob Jones Bruins in the Paladins' season opener Tuesday night at Timmons Arena. The Paladins established a school record with just three turnovers in the contest, while Lyons drained a career-high seven three-pointers on 13 attempts.

Friday night's game marks the third all-time meeting between Furman and Loyola, who opened its season with a 76-45 triumph over UMKC at Gentile Arena. Furman downed the Ramblers 65-52 at Timmons Arena on November 20, 2011, at Timmons Arena behind 14 points apiece from Brandon Sebirumbi and Richard Brown. Loyola evened the series the following season with a 77-50 decision versus the Paladins at Gentile Arena on December 1, 2012.

Following Friday's contest Furman returns home to host Gardner-Webb on Tuesday, November 13, before entertaining North Greenville two nights later.
