Greenville, S.C. – Furman's Laurence Wyke was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region second team for the second straight season, it was announced on Wednesday morning.
Wyke, a native of Bolton, England, totaled seven goals, including five match-winners, and added one assist as a senior this past season. The midfielder helped Furman claim its third Southern Conference Tournament title in the last five seasons en route to earning first team all-league accolades.
In the SoCon Tournament semifinals, Wyke scored an overtime goal to advance Furman, 13-7-2 on the season, to the league finals. He helped guide the Paladins to a 3-0 victory over UNCG in the SoCon championship match before converting from the penalty spot as Furman advanced past UNCW in a penalty shootout in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
A two-time All-SoCon selection, Wyke garnered SoCon Player of the Year honors in 2017.
