Furman Doubles Up Bob Jones, 93-46, Remains Perfect At Home

GREENVILLE, S.C. --  Le'Jzae Davidson and Sydni Donovan scored 14 points apiece and Furman won its sixth home game of the season in beating Bob Jones University, 93-46, in women's basketball action Tuesday afternoon at Timmons Arena.

The win improved Furman to 7-2 overall and helped the Paladins remain perfect at home heading into a five-game road stretch beginning at North Carolina on Sunday.  Head coach Jackie Carson's squad will face both Ohio and Xavier in West Palm Beach, Fla. (Dec. 16-17), and play at UNC Asheville (Dec. 28) and at Presbyterian (Dec. 30) before returning home to begin Southern Conference action versus Samford on Jan. 4.

Davidson and Donovan headlined the scoring effort against Bob Jones, with Davidson, a sophomore guard, connecting on 5-of-10 shots while Donovan, a freshman forward, making 5-of-6 attempts.  Both players went 4-for-4 at the free throw line, part of a 22-for-26 charity stripe effort by the Paladins.

DeAnneisha Jackson finished with 13 points, and Celena Taborn rounded out the double figure scoring effort with 12 points and a game high 10 rebounds in just 13 minutes of action — the least amount of playing time among the 11 Paladins in uniform.

Faith Hart led Bob Jones (4-7) with 12 points.

The Paladins dominated every facet of the contest, leading from start to finish with 35-of-78 shooting (44.9%) and a commanding 54-28 rebounding margin.  Furman harried Bob Jones into 25 turnovers, converting the miscues into a 41-6 advantage.

Furman jumped out to a 16-2 lead, spiced by a Stephania Oramas 3-pointer, and never looked back, leading 29-10 after the first quarter.
